Receipt and trust work advanced as a Cardano signature break surfaced
The x402 repository saw new work on behavioral trust gating (#2300), proof-of-delivery receipts (#3186), and facilitator-authored settlement metadata (#3666). AIR (#2922), an open receipt format with a verifier, test vectors, and MCP gateway, reached 62 comments. SAR (#1195) remains an active receipt proposal with 93 comments.
Cardano has a reported signature-breaking bug: issue #3673 says the facilitator re-encodes signed transactions before submission. Related PRs add Python Cardano support (#3546) and preserve the client's signed transaction bytes unchanged (#3674). Three documentation fixes and one legacy deprecation change also closed, including #3095, #3294, #3295, and #3296.
Bazaar resources grew from 22,224 to 24,414, while agent-tool services rose from 16,651 to 16,978 and healthy services from 8,840 to 8,930. The x402 list held at 853 services and fell from 5,983 to 5,982 endpoints. Average 24-hour uptime was 88.9%, average response time was 689 ms, and hourly checks rose to 3,209.
Listed service pricing averaged $0.393, down from $0.395, with a $0 minimum, $50 maximum, and $0.01 median. Nano remained at 13 nano:mainnet entries and 2 nano entries in the agent-tools catalog.
Opinion
Receipt formats and settlement metadata are becoming the ecosystem’s main coordination layer, but the Cardano re-encoding bug shows that payment correctness still fails at basic byte-preservation boundaries. Expect more protocol attention to canonical serialization and delivery proofs before catalog growth translates into dependable agent payments.
